Would you like to be part of our small team researching and campaigning for peace and human rights and challenging militarism?
ForcesWatch are recruiting a Researcher who will bring passion and skills for investigating and creating outputs on our areas of concern. This will be a key role in the work of our small team.
The Researcher will work with our Research Lead on project areas and should have a prior interest in the issues our work covers and strong research and writing skills. Project management and other communication skills are also essential. The post involves shared organisational tasks – from the day to day to the strategic – so experience in these areas is desirable.
As well as a strong commitment to the ethos and aims of our work, this post requires great attention to detail and accuracy, and interpersonal skills for working, and communicating, with our small team and steering committee, partner organisations and our audiences.
We work as a collaborative and supportive team with plenty of opportunity for initiative. We embrace hybrid working but staff are encouraged to be in our Kings Cross office at least two days per month.
Hours, salary, location
The role can be between 3 to 4 days FTE and has a salary of £34,560 p.a. pro-rata plus 5% pension. Working hours can be flexible but will need to be coordinated in consultation with other staff.
The initial contract will be for 12 months but this post will continue as long as funding allows.
We are based in Kings Cross in London, in a building that houses a number of like-minded organisations and a radical bookshop. We work in a hybrid way, mainly remotely, but staff are encouraged to work in our Kings Cross office at least two days per month. Attendance at our quarterly online committee meetings is also a must. You will also be required to attend occasional external meetings – mainly online but sometimes in person – on behalf of ForcesWatch.
